OPEN PEN & CARCASS SHOW

REGULATIONS FOR THE 2005 BUTLER COUNTY CATTLEMEN’S
OPEN PEN AND CARCASS SHOW
1. The show will be held in
conjunction with the Butler County Fair at approximately 5:00 p.m. on
Sunday, June 26th in the Show Arena.
2. Competition is open to any beef producer of Butler County or
adjoining counties.
3. There will be a steer division and a heifer division.
4. Entry fee $10.00 per animal.
5. Five animals per person in each division.
6. Cattle must have been owned and fed by exhibitor at least 90 days
prior to show.
7. This will be both a live and carcass contest. All animals must be
entered in both. All animals will be consigned to a packer for sale on
the yield basis. More information on this will be available at a later
date.
8. Cattle will be tagged by the Butler County Cattlemen’s Association.
9. Cattle will be delivered to Fairgrounds in Allison between 3:00 and
4:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 26th .
10. Animals are not to be groomed, washed, clipped, or haltered, and
will be shown loose in the ring. Exhibitors will not be permitted in
the ring, except Cattlemen board members.
11. Freight to Packing house will be pro-rated and paid by exhibitor.
12. No sharp horns and no wild cattle.
13. Award money will be pro-rated according to number of entries.
LIVE CONTEST
1. Judging: Top ten animals in each division will be picked by
qualified judges. Placing to be on the basis of estimated carcass
desirability.
2. All animals shown in Live Contest must be entered in Carcass
Contest.
CARCASS CONTEST
1. Judging:
A. Top ten carcasses in each division will be picked by qualified
judges.
B. Eligible carcasses will be placed on basis of cutability and
quality.
100 % of Entry Money will be paid back in Premiums according to each
division.
Plaques and ribbons donated by Butler County Fair Association and
other local sponsors.
OPEN JUDGING CONTEST
1. There will be a judging contest for spectators with beef
certificates as prizes.
