Bucket of Junk Contest
1st Place: $50 -
2nd Place: $25 – 3rd Place: $10.00
A new contest was
created for the 2004 Butler County Fair and we had such a great
response we decided to do it again! Anyone over 18 years old is
eligible to enter this contest. We will provide a five-gallon bucket
of unique pieces, probably otherwise known as “junk”. All the
buckets will include the same number of items and be as close to
identical as possible.
There will be a $ 10.00 deposit per bucket- due when the contestant
receives the bucket. The deposit will be returned on Entry day.
You can clean, sand, weld, glue, cut, bolt, fasten, bend, shape,
paint or finish the items that were provided. BUT, no pieces can be
added. Create whatever you want with the contents of your bucket.
The goal is to use all the items in the bucket.
The five-gallon buckets will be available beginning June 1st .
Please call Clint Sharp at 319-346-2701 (evenings) to make arrangements to
get your bucket. There will be a limited number of buckets
available, so please call early.
Entry day will be Thursday, June 23rd . All entries need to be at
the Butler County Fair Secretary’s Office by Noon that day. We ask
that you please bring back the bucket so we can continue this
contest next year. Creations will be judged that afternoon during
the Senior Citizens Activities.
When you check in your creation at the Secretary’s Office, you will
be asked to name it. All of the creations will be auctioned off to
the highest bidder either Friday or Saturday evening.
Buckets #1 – #4 will be auctioned off on Friday night and Buckets #5
– #8 will be auctioned off on Saturday night. |
